New Comer Of The Year

The New Comer Of The Year Award is given to the 3rd & 4th Grade player who the coaching staff feels had the biggest impact to the organization and must be a first year player on the Wolverines. This award was created to honor new players into the organization who are not only new to the Wolverines but new to football in general. This award can be presented to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Graders and is voted on by the coaches.

4th Grader - Quarterback & Safety

Joey was a first year football player and became the starting quarterback for all the games in 2006.

OFFENSE
Passed for 200 yards (12 for 18)
3 TDs and 1 int

DEFENSE
5.5 Tackles (3 Solo and 5 Assisted)
3 TDs and 1 int

#34 Sal Pisciotta
4th Grader - Linebacker - Offensive Line

Sal did not start the season as a starter but worked his way into the starting lineup by being physical and giving 100% everytime he hit the field. He was actually under the weight-limit, however was used as an offensive lineman because of his toughness. On defense, Sal became a force and ended the season as the 6th leading tackler on the time with only returning players finishing higher than him.

2nd Grader - Slotback & Safety

Sal started every game in 2004 as a 2nd Grader playing mostly against kids in the 4th Grade.
2nd Leading Tackler in 2004
Was the backup Tailback as well as starting Slot and Wide Receiver
Caught 13 passes in 2004 which was the most on the squad

DEFENSE
35.5 Tackles (21 Solo & 29 Assisted)

OFFENSE
9 yards rushing on 5 carries
13 for 22 yards



The New Comer of the Year Award took the place of the Iron Man Award on the 3rd & 4th Grade Level.
