The 2007 Missouri Wolverines 7th & 8th Grade Missouri Wolverines team was truly one of the most impressive youth football teams ever assembled and their team and individual stats speak for themselves. As a starting unit only 16 points were scored in 11 games and offensively they put up over 517 points for the season.

Now in high school several of these players received the prestigious honor of being moved up to the JV/Varsity squad at their respective schools as FRESHMEN. This is truly a rare honor to have freshman playing on the varsity level and the Missouri Wolverines Organization could not be prouder of all the success the 2007 Missouri Wolverines 8th Graders received at the high school level.

    Former Missouri Wolverines, Michael Rose

MICHAEL ROSE (#55 for the Wolverines in 2007)

    LETTERED AS A FRESHMAN

    High School: Rockhurst High School
    Years with Wolverines: 1 (2008)
    Awards: 2007 7th & 8th Grade Co-MVP
Michael was moved up to the ROCKHURST VARSITY SQUAD and is the 2nd team linebacker as a freshman. In the first game of the year which was televised on ESPN nationally, Michael had several tackles including a forced fumble on Blue Springs South starting QB Blaine Dalton which led to a turnover. Michael was truly one of the finest players to ever play for the Missouri Wolverines and we are very proud that HE IS IN A SELECT FEW TO PLAY AS A FRESHMAN IN A VARSITY FOOTBALL GAME AT ROCKHURST HIGH SCHOOL.

Krae Kelso (#3 for the Wolverines in 2007)

    LETTERED AS A FRESHMAN

High School: North Kansas City High School
    Years with Wolverines: 1 (2007)
Awards: 2007 7th-8th Offensive Player of the Year
One of the most prolific passers in Wolverines History. Krae was the 2007 SuperBowl MVP and the starting Quarterback and Safety on the squad. Known as an offensive player, Krae actually became an outstanding defensive player and had a great game in the SuperBowl rushing the ball for the Wolverines. Krae is playing JV/Varsity at North Kansas City.

BEN ALLEN (#35 for the Wolverines in 2007)

    LETTERED AS A FRESHMAN

    High School: Winnetonka High School
    Years with Wolverines: 3 (2005-2007)
    Awards: 2007 7th-8th Defensive Player and 2005 5th-6th MVP
Ben was select the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year on the Missouri Wolverines 7th & 8th Squad and his hard work and determination has led to the Winnentoka coaching staff moving Ben up to JV/Varsity level as a freshman. Ben was a pleasure to coach and was one of the most coachable kids to ever play for the Wolverines. Before the 2007 season, Ben Allen had never even played Wide-Receiver let alone catch a pass however he ended up setting the single season touchdown record with 9 touchdown catches. Just a tribute to his work ethic.

JJ Zimmerman (#99 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Liberty High School
    Years with Wolverines: 2 (2006-2007)
Awards: 2007 7th-8th Lineman of the Year
JJ was one of the most dominating players to ever play youth football period let alone the Missouri Wolverines. His one arm sack in the 2007 SuperBowl was just a sample of his strength and power. JJ played offensive and defensive line for the Wolverines and was recently moved up to the JV/Varsity squad at Liberty High School.

Nick Elmore(#12 for the Wolverines in 2007)
High School: Oak Park High School
    Years with Wolverines: 2 (2006-2007)
    Awards: 2007 7th-8th Co-MVP
Nick Elmore is truly one of the best natural athletes in the nortland and his offensive records as an 8th Grader for the Wolverines only sum up 1/3 of his importance to the squad. Nick is playing freshman football at Oak Park only because Oak Park does not move up freshman, remember the name Nick Elmore, you will be hearing allot of his name in the KC Star on Saturday Mornings for the next 4 years.

Anthony Agrusa (#13 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Rockhurst High School
    Years with Wolverines: 1 (2007)
    Awards: 2007 7th-8th Iron Man
Iron Man only tells a piece of the heart of Nino Agrusa. Nino played most of the year hurt however still managed to start every game at wide-receiver and defensive back. He was the team's SHUTDOWN corner and was the go to wide-receiver. Nino has made the Freshman A-Team at Rockhurst.

Jacob "Biscuit" Durst (#52 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Rockhurst High School
    Years with Wolverines: 1 (2007)
Awards: 2007 7th-8th Lineman of the Year
Soft spoken but effective. Biscuit amounted an amazing record as he made 54 of 64 extra point field goals in 2007 and made a 24 yard field goal as well. He was the starting center and defensive end and was a consistent performer on both sides of the ball. Biscuit is on the Rockhurst Freshman A-Team.

Jon Holden (#67 for the Wolverines in 2007)
High School: Park Hill South High School

A 6 year Wolverine and an award winner on every level, Jon was a starter on both the offensive and defensive line. A solid performer and key player on the squad. Jon is at Park Hill South playing freshman football.

Michael David Short (#70 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Turner High School
    Years with Wolverines: 7 (2001-2007)
Awards: 2007 Larry Marshall Award Winner
A 7 year Wolverine and a starter on every level, known as "DOC" within the Wolverines Family. Doc is has the heart of a champion and was a starter on both sides of the ball at Offensive Tackle and Defensive Line. Doc is playing freshman football for Turner High School in Kansas.

Konner Braughton (#42 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Liberty High School
    Years with Wolverines: 4 (2004-2007)
Awards: 2007 7th-8th Most Improved Player
Hard worker who became a very good offensive fullback and blocker. Started all 11 games at defensive end and made several big blocks in the SuperBowl Game. Konnor is playing freshman football at Liberty High School.

Adam Tomczuk (#61 for the Wolverines in 2007)
High School: St. Pius X High School
    Years with Wolverines: 2 (2006-2007)
Adam played offensive and defensive line and although he was not a starter played a very important role as one of the first alternates to come into the game. He did start a few games on the offensive line and was another one of those players who contributed to the Wolverines success in 2007. He is playing freshman football at St. Pius.

Martin Thompson (#16 for the Wolverines in 2007)
High School: St. Pius X High School
    Years with Wolverines: 1 (2007)
Martin started every game at cornerback for the Wolverines and became a very solid and dependable defensive player. 2007 was his first year of playing football and yet he managed to start every game. He is playing freshman football at St. Pius.

Derek Eggleston (#88 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Liberty High School
    Years with Wolverines: 7 (2001-2007)
Improvement sums up Derek's career with the Wolverines. When he started playing with the Wolverines in 2002, he could barely run a lap however as Derek improved each year, so did the Wolverines Organization. A player who most coaches thought would give up football, Derek continues to defy the odds as he is playing freshman football at Liberty High School.

Cam Coquyt (#33 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Winnetonka High School
    Years with Wolverines: 2 (2006-2007)
Big Cam... one of the biggest hearts you will ever find in a football player. Cam was hurt in 2006 yet came to every practice and stayed on as a manager for the team. In 2007, Cam became the backup fullback and played defensive line. You will not find a ton of his stats in our record books however Cam is a great kid and truly fun kid to coach. We are glad to see him still playing football at Winnetonka on the Freshman team.

Matt Elder (#32 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Liberty High School
    Years with Wolverines: 7 (2001-2007)
    Awards: 2003 3rd & 4th Grade Iron Man
We are still trying to find out if Matt is playing football at Liberty High School. Nonetheless, Matt came to the Wolverines in the 2nd Grade and was a contributor every year he played. He was a starter on the 3rd & 4th Grade and 5th & 6th Grade levels. Size became an issue for Matt as he got older however his heart and determination continued to grow and he was always eager to play whatever role he could to help the team. He played linebacker and wide receiver and not to be forgotten he was the B-Team Xtra Point Field Goal kicker, something he always loved doing. Matt stayed with the organization for 7 years and we are proud and thankful to have had the chance to coach Matt and we wish him all the best whether he decided to play football or not.

Eric Zoz (#44 for the Wolverines in 2007)
    High School: Liberty High School
    Years with Wolverines: 6 (2002-2007)
Awards: 2005 5th & 6th Grade Defensive Player of the Year
We are still trying to find out if Eric is playing football at Liberty High School. Eric is another player in which size became an issue playing on the 7th & 8th Grade level in the A-Games. For two straight years, he led the B-Team in tackles and saw playing team in both the A and B games. Eric was a hard worker at whatever he did. A very good defensive player who gave quality minutes in 2007 at safety and although he did not start many games was one of the first alternates and made some very big plays when he was in the game. Eric is another kid that stuck with the program and we are proud that we were able to give him a championship his final year with us.
