2008 Sign-Ups

[2007 Wolverines Sign-Ups]

The official sign-up for the 2008 North Suburban Youth Football League is Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd. The Missouri Wolverines will be holding their sign-ups at Pleasant Valley Park from 12:00pm - 3:00pm both Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd.

You only need to attend one day, either Saturday or Sunday to fill out your paperwork. We encourage players to be there so that we can get height and weight. if you are unable to make it on Saturday or Sunday please email or call us so we save a spot for you. The first night of practice is Monday August 4th at 6:00pm at Pleasant Valley Park.

NO FEES of any kind are required at sign-ups. The Missouri Wolverines require you to pay nothing until a contract has been offered to participate in the North Suburban Youth Football League. At the time final rosters have been set, each player is required to pay a league fee and do fundraising which all fees can be handled by doing fundraisers which are selling cookie dough, 39 gallon trash bags, and ads for the NSYFL yearbook and the Missouri Wolverines Yearbook. Please also keep in mind that all of our games are played in the Northland Area.

If you are new to the league you are probably wondering what are sign-ups for?
The North Suburban Youth Football League limits the number of players each team can carry for a season. Currently there are 4 divisions: Flag Football (1st & 2nd Grade), 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade, and 7th & 8th Grade. Each division has a limit on the team members it can carry: 16 for Flag, 24 for 3rd & 4th (which can include 2nd graders), 28 for 5th & 6th, and 32 for 7th & 8th. With this, a "tryout" situation can occur if a team has an abundance of players coming out. All players will have a spot within the NSYFL, however it is important to "Sign-Up" for the team you wish to play for so that you are guaranteed a chance to make that respective team. New league rules have limited the number of tryout days a team is allowed before setting its final roster so it is important to attend and get all your paperwork filled out before practices start. Those players who miss sign-ups and come out to practice late will be behind the others and will jeopardize a potential spot on the team.

Still undecided on whether you think football is right for you or your child?
We invite you to attend the 2008 Northland Youth Football Camp. The camp covers the fundamentals of football in a non-aggressive learning atmosphere. For new players, this is a perfect opportunity to see if you like football as this will give you a taste of what you can expect when the season starts in August. For returning players, this is like a pre-season workout allowing you to improve on fundamentals and get ready for the upcoming season. The camp is open to all players from all teams and leagues, and is backed by the North Suburban Youth Football League.

Nevertheless, if you decide that the Missouri Wolverines are not the team for you we encourage you to visit with the other organizations in the North Suburban Youth Football League. We feel a child benefits greatly from participating in a team sport like football and our number one goal is to help kids. So it is not where you play but more importantly that you take advantage of the fun, confidence, and respect a child can gain from playing youth football.
